Fewer supplies in stores, but online shelves well stocked
The Bacl-to-School shopping deals have already started- mostly online.
Store-front retailers have cut back inventories this last year because of the slow economy. That means consumers will have fewer choices on the store shelves.
Online stores, though, will be well stocked.
Buying online can save money in discounts, gasoline and time.
When you buy online, you can often find better discounts than you can in the same store!
Some chains have cut back stock as much as 20% compared to last years' levels. If the 2011 season for Back-to-School sales are slow, they may continue to cut down on in-store inventory.

Back to School Consumers Show a Glimmer of Hope, but Economy Still a Concern
Fewer consumers expect to reduce their spending on back-to-school sale items compared to last year. But, economic concerns will continue to weigh on their shopping plans, according to a survey by Deloitte.
Among those surveyed, 64 percent said they plan to spend less on back-to-school items, compared with 71 percent in 2008. Four in 10 (43 percent) say they will cut back their spending by more than $100, down from nearly five out of 10 (48 percent) last year. Back to school sales in 2009 were similar.
